Alberta retina specialists
This project aims to:
Provide retina specialists with their intravitreal injection treatment practice information for patients with age-related wet macular degeneration (AMD) during the period of January 2011 to June 2012.
Assist retina specialists in the development of a consensus documents on the treatment of AMD.
Provide retina specialists with their post-consensus document treatment practice information for patients with AMD during the period of October 2012 to March 2014.
Initial reports were distributed and data was presented to the Alberta retina specialists in October 2012.
In collaboration with PLP and Toward Optimal Practice (TOP), the specialists developed a consensus document for the treatment of AMD.
In October 2014, PLP will provide the Alberta retina specialists with an updated practice report. The specialists will have the opportunity to self-assess and compare their pre- and post-consensus document treatment practices.
